Film Festival 101

Ticket Pickup
If you ordered your tickets in advance, all of the tickets
you purchased will be available for pickup at the venue
of your first screening. If you don’t pick them up there, you
will have to call the Festival Box Offi ce to re-route the tickets
to your next venue – this will not happen automatically.
Day of show tickets are only available at the venue
If you want to buy a ticket for a same-day movie, go
straight to the venue where that movie will be showing.
The tickets for the entire day go on sale one half hour
before the fi rst show of the day at that venue.
Film screenings tend to sell out
Especially the Opening, Closing and Centerpiece films.
Plan your festival schedule ahead of time, and buy tickets
as early as possible – or better yet, buy a badge. But
remember: After show time, no one (including badge-holders)
is guaranteed a seat!
Venue box offices are cash only
Visit the closest ATM before arriving at the movies –
venue ticket sales are cash only!
Remember your umbrella
The Festival attracts thousands of people, so don’t
be surprised by lines that extend outside – and dress
accordingly.
Seats cannot be held
You must be present to take a seat. Seating is on a firstcome,
first-served basis. There is no "standing room"
admission at any Festival fi lm or program. If you are seeing
two films back-to-back in the same venue, you must exit
the theater and re-enter. You may not save your seat.
Arrive at the theater early
To start the film on time, we must seat as many people
as possible in a very short time. Allow plenty of time for
your transportation, especially on weekend nights! Visit
the Festival Map (on the next page) for tips on parking
and basic public transportation information.
Children are
(sometimes) welcome
Not every Festival fi lm is intended for “all
audiences,” and few have MPAA ratings attached –
audience discretion is advised and, as a general rule,
children are encouraged to attend only designated films.
We do not show
any previews
Screenings start within five minutes of the scheduled
time, so be on time. That said, the Festival cannot be held
accountable for late starts! If you want to see previews and trailers, check out PhillyGayCalendar.com's trailer section
We take movies seriously
Please silence your wrappers, voices, communication
devices and alarms to ensure a quality audience
experience!
Most of the venues are
staffed by volunteers...
...who can answer many of your questions and make
the festival possible by donating their time. Please
be patient, and don’t forget to thank them for their
efforts.
