Interestes/Hobbies:
Creative fiction writing, video games, law, cooking, film and comic book appreciation, blogging. I'm also working on a year-long project to build a semi-functional Batman costume.

Favorite Music:
Florence and the Machine, Of Monsters and Men, the Killers and Imagine Dragons for an indie feel. When I'm in a hip hop mood, I listen to Childish Gambino, Kanye West, Jay-Z and some of Justin Timberlake's new stuff. Classics like David Bowie, Pink Floyd, the Eagles and Queen never get old.

Sports:
I lift weights, rock climb and bike everywhere. And I followed the Phillies in my freshman year when they won the World Series. Past that, what sports?

Favorite Restaurant:
Caribou Cafe because I love the ambiance and I've never had a bad meal there. R2L because the view always impresses and I know several of the staff. Yakitori Boy on 11th street remains a stand-by of mine for a chill date.

Favorite Gay Hangout:
I've always liked the atmosphere of the piano bar at Tavern on Camac, and iCandy is fun for the rare Friday or Saturday that I have to go wild. I still need to devote more time to browsing around Giovanni's Room.

Favorite Straight Hangout:
Rittenhouse Square and the stretch of the Parkway leading into Fairmount is visually pleasant. Besides that I spend a lot of time on Temple's campus. It goes with the whole "student" thing.

Best part of Philly:
The diversity and the "small town in a big city feel." Philly has never felt over built, over populated or over priced the way that New York and DC can feel like. It's an easy city to embrace, and there's an endearing kind of grittiness.

Ideal First Date:
Hard to say, since I'm usually the one who ends up planning the date. I guess an ideal date would be one that surprises me, one that I wouldn't see coming for some reason. A certain mix of chemistry and circumstance that I can't put my finger on. I doubt the standard dinner and a movie would be my ideal.

What is Ian looking for in a partner?
Physically, bigger guys are alright, but someone who takes care of himself is a must. Someone that can keep up with me intellectually, open-minded, willing to adapt to me as much as I'm willing to adapt to him. I've always had a soft-spot for creative types, but ultimately it's important that he has his own passions and drives. I'd much prefer us to share and cheer each other on with our own goals rather than just having a sidekick. And he shouldn't take himself too seriously, because I know I don't.
