What good is sitting alone in your room? Come hear the music play.” Philadelphia Voices of Pride is pleased to announce our second cabaret, Songs from the Movies. In the tradition established by our first cabaret, Broadway Bound, our second cabaret will include both chorus members and other talented singers from the Philadelphia community.

The cabaret will feature over twenty singers, pianists, and other instrumentalists performing classic and modern cinematic songs, including “Singing in the Rain,” “The Way We Were,” “Footloose,” and “Welcome to Burlesque.” In addition to such fine musicians, we are honored to have PVOP’s very own lively lass from Yorkshire, Elizabeth Davenport, as host. Our accompanist is seasoned veteran, Justin Aurand. The audience will be sure to encounter other familiar faces from the Gayborhood as well.

Songs from the Movies will be held Saturday, May 5th at 8pm at the William Way Center ballroom, 1315 Spruce St., Philadelphia, PA. Tickets cost $25 and are available at the door. Our cabaret is an important fundraiser to support PVOP, Philadelphia’s premier Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Queer, and Allied mixed-voice chorus. We will be holding a raffle for 4 tickets to our upcoming June show, In a World of Our Own, which is an $80value. There will also be a raffle for a mystery prize. With each ticket purchase, the buyer will receive a complementary soda or glass of red or white wine. ID must be provided for wine glasses.
