What do you get when you mix a crooner (voted Best in Philly®: Cabaret by Philadelphia Magazine) with a jazz trio? You get a very special cabaret evening with Northwest resident, Michael Richard Kelly, at the Mt. Airy Art Garage.

The Mt. Airy Art Garage, a creative center for emerging and professional artists in Northwest Philadelphia, presents a night of sophisticated elegance starring Michael Richard Kelly with the Tamer Tewfik Trio on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 7:30PM.

Performing selections from his cabaret show entitled “I Sing for My Father,” Michael will enchant guests with his voice as he pays homage to the legacy of his father, Leon E. Kelly, who was a singer, radio and television broadcaster, and news anchor. Featuring an array of ballads and songs from the 1930s and 40s, Michael’s show is destined to entertain. A professional singer for over thirty years, Michael Richard Kelly has performed at multiple
venues across the country, and his career has encompassed many facets of performance. Whether rubbing elbows with Broadway stars like Liza Minnelli during his run in Stan Hurwitz’s
show “The All Night Strut” or singing cabaret at Odette’s in New Hope, PA, Michael brings a passion to the stage that is quite incomparable.

Michael Richard Kelly’s “I Sing for My Father” begins at 7:30PM on Friday, May 11th at 11 West Mt. Airy Ave., Philadelphia PA 19119. Tickets are $40 and all proceeds benefit the Mt. Airy Art Garage.
