| Ready to roll? On Saturday, April 12, Philadelphia's Roller Girls have invited us to watch them take on two teams at the Class of 1923 Arena (3130 Walnut St.). If you're a big derby fan, you'll have the chance to meet tons of TWCers and let them in on the fun. If you've always wanted to catch a bout but never got a chance, the time is now. And if you've never heard of derby, it's gonna be a wild ride.
We'll have two bouts, an after-party with the derby teams, a chance to participate in a relay, plus prime seats roped off for TWC members and a 22-oz. beer mug for everyone.
To raffle off our four great prizes from the Roller Girls (two t-shirts and two pairs of tickets to their May bout), we’ll be giving them away to those of you who buy tickets #04 and #17 (to celebrate our current 1704 members in Philly) and #76 (of course) and #100.
5pm: Doors open
6pm: First bout: Philadelphia Roller Girls Block Party vs. New RiverValley Rollergirls (Christiansburg, VA)
7:15: Break with entertainment and relay.
7:45: Second bout: Philadelphia Roller Girls Independence Dolls vs. Richland County Regulator Derby Team (Columbia, SC)
9pm: After-party with the derby teams at Bonner's Irish Pub
Each game consists of 2-30 minute periods. There is a 15 minute break between periods and a 30 minute break between games. There will be entertainment during half-time and between games.
