TOPIC: Healing Wounds- A Conversation On Healing Past Trauma
Black Men are supposed to be strong...the rock of our families. At least that's what everyone says and how we are constantly depicted. But what, exactly, does this strength entail? And what price do Black men and other men of color pay for it?
Many brothers choose to use avoidance behavior and numbing activities just to continue to lessen the feelings caused by trauma. Many Black men simply feel that healing isnít possible and if it is, they have no time to stop and deal with their mental, spiritual and emotional health.
There is so much energy trapped in our wounds, energy that once liberated through healing and transformation, can be used for creativity and innovation. Join us as we look at ways to facilitate our own healing and turn our obstacles into opportunities.
Join us in this important discussion, where we will explore misconceptions, challenges and ways we can support one another as Bruthas.
