Bowtie Boy has been trekking around philly for 3 years. He enjoys theatre, beer gardens and intellectual conversations that lead nowhere. When he's not free-lancing his social media management and digital marketing strategies, he's at home in his underwear watching Dr. Who and eating Reese's puffs.
You may be thinkinking that you can't offer much more than emotional suppourt from 991 miles away (thank you google maps) but I'm here to tell you there are a slew of oppurtunites to help the pepole of Orlando from within your city... even if you still can't donate blood (don't get me started)
HEARTBEAT - Starting tonight (6/15) Mimi Imfurst and Icandy Nightclub have teamed up to put together HEARTBEAT, part get together, part show the night will be emotional and fun with proceeds from the bar, raffle and door (suggested donation of $3-$10) going to those affected @ Pulse - https://www.facebook.com/events/1691199911133406/
David Ayllon - Can't make it tonight AND looking to spruce up your new place? David Ayllon is offering limited edition prints featuring some amazing drag queens <3 All proceeds will be donated directly to the official Pulse victims fund. http://www.postersforpulse.com
Support Our Own - Philly's own Angel Santiago Jr. was shot and is on the road to recovery, his freind Daniel Torres set up a Go Fund Me so you can help lighten his finacial burden here - https://www.gofundme.com/29tuvy3q
LoveIsLove - Next week Franky Bradley's will be hosting LoveIsLove (6/22) a collection of aerialists, pole artists, and drag queens (check facebook for the updated line up) will put on a powerfully moving show, bring tissues. All funds raised will go to a CrowdRise campaign launched by LGBTQ advocacy nonprofit Planting Peace to help cover the victims’ medical costs, as well as funeral costs. If you are unable to attend you can donate here:
Stonewall - Stonewall Sports will match dollar for dollar each donation up to $7,500. Visit http://stonewallgivesback.org for more information. We will also be collecting at the Kickball End-Of-Season Party at North Shore this Sunday.
Have I missed an event, let me know!
