Philadelphia, PA - The Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival has been rebranded as the Philadelphia QFest to celebrate 15 years of bringing the best in new queer cinema from around the world to Philadelphia! In addition to the fresh new name, QFest has been reinvigorated with new venues and a new outlook. QFest will continue its longstanding commitment to screening the year’s best LGBT films during a nearly two week run, this July 9th thru the July 20th.

QFest is expanding into Old City, screening films at the Ritz East theatres as well as our traditional home at The Prince Music Theater. Parties and receptions will be hosted nightly in such nightspots and restaurants as Patou and Keating’s at the Hyatt Regency at Penn’s Landing. The Opening Night party will return to a spectacular space, Hamilton Hall at the University of the Arts on Broad St. where stars, directors, film-lovers and partiers will kick off the 12-day festival together over cold drinks and hot beats from 9:30 to 12:30. The Closing Night celebration will be held for the very first time on the 33rd floor of the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, a fantastic space that promises a stunning new view for the amazing annual gathering.

The Philadelphia landmark, City Tavern, is hosting a garden party for badge holders, donors, and Members of the Philadelphia Cinema Alliance, the new member supported not-for-profit organization that produces both Philadelphia QFest and Philadelphia CineFest. For more details on Membership and the Alliance, please visit phillycinema.org.

QFest’s new name and new energy promise a fantastic lineup of international queer films - you won’t want to miss QFest’s 15th year, where each summer, LGBT film is celebrated.
