Office of LGBT Affairs - Philadelphia

The Office of LGBT Affairs was established in 2008 by executive order #13-08 and is responsible for developing public policy, serving as a point of contact for the region’s LGBT residents and organizations, and provides support to the growth and development of Philadelphia’s LGBT communities. The Office of LGBT Affairs works with LGBT communities to develop priorities for the City on issues including public safety, education, economic development, health and City services, and civil rights. The Office of LGBT Affairs is assisted by a volunteer advisory board of community leaders.

OPAL - Out Philadelphia Athletic League

The William Way LGBT Community Center (WWCC) is at the forefront of serving the diverse needs of the greater Philadelphia LGBT communities and OPAL is both a great addition and an opportunity for the Center to increase and expand its services to LGBT athletes and their allies in the region. OPAL is a recreational sport and social program of the WWCC designed to bring together the various LGBT sport leagues in the Greater Philadelphia Metro area. OPAL will focus on coordination between and among the numerous LGBT sport organizations and the LGBT community as well as the overall Greater Philadelphia Metro community. Special emphasis will be placed on assisting leagues with operations, facilities and permits, assisting leagues and players in attending regional, national and international sporting events and creation of intramural leagues while developing and increasing cross-sport social interaction.

OUTFRONT! is a platform-based legislative advocacy, public education, and political action organization serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) communities. Our Issues Platform is a living document that contiIues to evolve based upon input from the community and its changing needs. Our Statement of Principles was created by a coalition of community leaders representing a wide array of LGBT interests and perspectives. Our board represents a diverse group of individuals from a broad spectrum of the LGBT community, and it is committed to advancing our communities' issues, rights, and concerns.

OUTFRONT's ongoing work includes advocating for LGBT youths, for those with health challenges, LGBT families, and for those who are the victims of civil rights abuses. Our bipartisan Political Action Committee (PAC) and its associated community-based committee endorses supportive candidates and works to elect fair-minded representatives at the local, state, and federal levels of government.

PANG - Philadelphia Area Naked Guys

Philadelphia Area Naked Guys, PANG, is an all-male naturist social club open only to males 21 years old or older. We welcome all men of all sizes, shapes, ages, occupations, ethnicities, etc. We have house parties that are open only to members and their guests. We sponsor events that are open to the public, such as trips to the nude beach and Socials at the Wm. Way Community Center.

Peace Advocacy Network

Peace Advocacy Network promotes a peaceful existence through veganism, social justice, and respect for the Earth's inhabitants and resources.

Peace Advocacy Network (PAN), founded in 2010, is a grassroots group completely run by volunteers. PAN strives for the absence of violence in the lives of animals - human and non-human alike. Campaigns include vegan advocacy, humane facts education, horse-drawn carriage ban, as well as human rights issues.

Penn Hillel is campus Jewish community where students celebrate Jewish life, continue to explore Jewish ideas and build community. Our many student groups include religious communities, educational initiatives, social justice projects, social and cultural opportunities and groups that focus on Israel education and politics.

Old school roller derby meets modern day awesomeness in the first Roller Derby League in the area since the 1970's. Over 40 women on quad roller skates, hitting each others at high speeds. Throw fishnets and a lot of attitude into the mix, and there you have the Penn Jersey She Devils Roller Derby.
