Customized

Executive Director of PhillyGayCalendar

I never thought I’d say I am freakin tired of shopping! Today’s fashions have become frazzling because we’re stuck in a zone between the 80’s and Neptune. It seems like every time I get some extra cash to splurge on my wardrobe I cannot find garments worthy enough to hang in my closet. Of course I have the options of heading up the Turnpike to New York to satisfy my shopping crave, but with these crazy gas prices and outrageous tolls … there goes my extra cash! Not to mention how complicated it is to look for special occasion outfits. Just a couple of months ago I spent over two weeks looking for an outfit to wear to PhillyGayCalendar’s annual award ceremony. Sheesh!! Shopping is not as easy or fun as it used to be! I just simply refuse to spend my hard earned money on styles that are not eye catching or head turning. So does it sound so ridiculous to have your clothes custom designed? Since I could not find fashions worthy enough to wear to the upcoming monumental first annual Southern New Jersey Pride, taking place on July 3rd through July 6th, so I decided to hire Georgi of GP Productionz to design the attire for this exquisite and exciting event. The ambitious, youthful, multi-talented, bachelorette now reigning in the heart of Philadelphia, but originally from Raleigh, North Carolina has provided her clientele with customized designs on just about every piece of clothing you could think of from shirts, skirts, dresses, shorts, shoes, and pants for over 14 years. Scholar of Philadelphia Art Institute and Community College majoring in Digital Media Production and Business, Georgi’s designs are inspired by life and services are available 24 hours a day. Yes, 24 hours!

Georgi has provided customized designs to notable organizations such as Jersey’s own Family Lyfe, Inc., Philadelphia Nubian Stepper’s, Scotty’s Barber Shop on 51st and Haverford. I had the extreme pleasure to interview her while she was working on her latest designs…

How would describe your designs?
Georgi: “Customized.”

Where do you get your inspiration?
Georgi: “I am inspired by life. Day by day occurrences are expressed through my designs.”

What different about your designs from this year than last year?
Georgi: “Last year was more characterized, this year we’re providing a wider selection.”

Where can interested customers find your designs?
Georgi: “Each design for each customer is unique. Unless requested, no two designs are the same. Definitely not something found in stores. You just have to come and get it.”

You can find Georgi on Myspace and at this year’s Southern New Jersey Pride. Interested in your own customized designs? Hit GP Productionz up at 267.290.6489!
