For what it’s worth, here is Peaceman

With the financial collapse, it isn’t a huge surprise to see people start to leave for more stable positions. But rarely will you see a socially-conscious banker leave the industry to sing about peace. Yes, peace. The last thing most people find on the floors of the New York Stock Exchange.

Sir Ivan (aka Peaceman) is a banker turned singer – the son of a Holocaust survivor, legendary banker and philanthropist Siggi B. Wilzig. After working his way up through his family’s massive banking businesses, he abandoned the pressure of finance to pursue a career in music. Following in his father’s footsteps, Sir Ivan has taken a philanthropic approach to his art, with his superhero persona “Peaceman” in order to raise money for humanitarian causes. His first single, a remake of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” became an instant chart topper club fave, and his current singles are also topping the charts.

Sir Ivan uses the phrase “technippy” to describe his music – ie techno arrangements with feelgood, peaceful, hippy lyrics. It may sound strange to some, but it has proven successful. He’s recorded for such esteemed labels as Tommy Boy and Jellybean, and is now releasing his new album entitled “I Am Peaceman,” which will focus more on a pop/rock sound, and, as any good marketer would do, he’s dubbed his newest genre “rocktronica.” The album is produced by Ford, who has 18 gold and platinum singles to his credit.

Sir Ivan has also recently created the Peaceman Foundation, which is a private foundation which supports a variety of charities dedicated to fighting Hate Crimes (a straight man, Sir Ivan supports full equality for all human beings), and also helping to fight Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, often caused by combat missions.

While everything art is relative, you can’t help but appreciate someone who actually takes their money and uses it for good rather than making themselves richer.
