Miss Information hits the town for Heroes and Voyeurs

Miss Information sees al and knows all. I’m a gossip queen that keeps your fellow Philly homos informed!

So this weekend, Miss Information decided to step out! So much was going on that I was not gonna sit at home with reruns of Saturday Night Life (which was so fuckin…I mean freakin good!) This weekend I grabbed my finest gown, straightened my tiara and headed to a few amazing events….Heroes and Voyeur.

First stop of the night was Heroes. The fabulous folks at the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund held their annual gala/award show. Now if you don’t know the DVLF’ers, go look them up. They help raise zillions of dollars for local gay organizations and are run by the fabulous and scrumptious Perry Monastero. The event was held at the old Real World House – remember that show children, we all watched as those 7 crazy kids wandered around Philly and saw EVERYONE sleep with Willie hoping to make it famous…you know who you are. The building is very elegant now, it no longer smells like KY and shame.

All the A-list queers were there, from the clear channel boys, to the sexy gang that owns PHAG, to that charmer who runs Absolute Abstract. Our good friend from Homopop.com were wandering about. Both Malcolm, the master of Equality Forum and Frannie, the mistress of Pride Fest were in attendance (separate rooms of course). Even that fabulous diva Lanette, from the US Census was lurking about (I’ll give you more gossip on her later when PhillyGayCalendar joins forces with the feds to get all us gays counted!)

Of course all eyes were on the woman of the honor for the night, the ever fabulous Ms Gloria Casarez, LGBT Liaison to Mayor Nutter. She took stage and accepted the award for 2009 HERO. As a good friend of Casares, we here at PhillyGayCalendar, giver her major snaps for all she has done for the community, so work it girl, you deserve it!

After that fabulous shindig came to a close it was time to head to the fabulous Pure…scratch that….Voyeur! Now I’m sure you were all as excited as Miss Information was to see what they did in those two weeks of renovation. There were many rumors and on Friday night they opened the doors with 2 hours open bar and showed Philly what they have done. You notice it right away when you walk in and see a 2 story 360 degree video screen – BAM! It’s big, it’s beautiful and you’re gonna love! Fast paced videos of sexy bodies dancing were rotating all night long – makes a girl dizzy! The little VIP booths are gone and were replaced with a cozy little seating area with hardwood floors. All the walls are painted as black as my ex’s heart that son-of-a-b…um…never mind.

On the walls were voyeuristic images of half naked men and women, and the shower was replaced with a little room with a swing that Miss Information had a chance to sit on, making all the boys drool over me – you know who you were! Larry E’s hot muscle boys were there, of course, as well as some female strippers.

Now Miss Information loves a hot sexy girl as much as a hot sexy guy, work it out girl! She just hopes it isn’t a misguided attempt to try and make Voyeur a mixed club. I don’t mind the het’ros in the workplace, but the night clubs belong to me and my gays! Mixing it up never works and I’d hate to see such a fabu new place go under…or worse, go straight. But I know the sassy folk at the new Voyeur will keep it gay gay gay!

And of course the crowd was VIP all the way. Miss Information cruised all the fabulous boys, including once again the PHAG boys. Plus the fabulous Desiree from pretty much every gay arts event in town was dancing all night. The diva of the night, Voyeur manager Tre was working the room like a proud mother, and Natasha took the to stage to get all her fans of the lower level dancing. The infamous Thom Cardwell, of QFest was scene mingling in the new Ruby Lounge and demanding fancy drinks with little umbrellas from longtime bartender Frankie Morelli.

And of course PhillyGayCalendar was in the house, several of the columnist were exploring the space including Sandy Smith, Charlie Biggs, Charles Morgan, Steve Cisowski and Joe Matthews (he’s new and you will see him online soon!)- plus Kevin, our fabulous photographer was snapping photos all night, (check them out HERE) and Mike, PGC’s infamous videographer was down in the Ruby Lounge, where he can be found most weekends. And speaking of photos, several of our calendar models were seen in the crowd including Mikey, Gary, and Phil, And of course the director of PGC, Steve McCann was seen dancing on the center box with a posse of cute boys….seems to be a habit of his (*cough* Boys of Summer *cough*)

Over all a fun and exciting weekend full of awards, fancy parties and a wild nightclub until the wee hours of the morning. Miss Information went home tired but happy. And what’s next you may ask my little divas? The opening of Q Lounge (formerly BUMP) – next Friday! Expect a full report of what…and who…I did that weekend!

Until then – ta ta for now my happy little Philly boys!
