The Philadelphia GayFest will be presenting the world premiere staging of playwright Sarah Pappalardo’s Cold, playing August 10 through the 24 at the Skinner Studio at Plays and Players Theatre.  Pappalardo’s drama, which had a reading during the 2012 GayFest, returns for a fully-staged production.

The play, which is directed by William Steinberger, features Linda Schapley, Jackie Gordon, Mary Beth Shrader, Merci Lyons-Cox, and Michael Bartlett in the ensemble.

“On a frigid Chicago night, Linda, a quiet, stoic butch holds a gun to her head in her once-legendary, now empty, lesbian dive,” states the summary of the play.  “Forced to sell her struggling bar, Linda's fateful night is interrupted by the bar's wayward co-owner, a young trans man, and his lesbian ex as they challenge what's worth holding onto and what to leave behind.”

Cold features sets designed by Dave Sanford, lighting by Amanda Jensen, and costumes by John Hodges.

Plays and Players Theatre is located at 1714 Delancey Street in Philadelphia.  For more information, or to purchase tickets, please visit www.quinceproductions.com or call 215-627-1088.
