There’s new coffee shop in town, and it’s owned by a stud!

I had a chance to talk with local graduate (Temple University) about his new coffee shop on 8th and Sansom! He's a good looking dude with a brain, what more could you want?

C: Who is Nick DeJulius?

N: Originally from Connecticut, I came down to Philly for college – Fox School of Business at Temple. BS in Marketing. After graduation, moved to NYC for a few years to work in boutique hotels events and F&B. Missed the energy, fair standard of living, and sense of opportunity of Philly. I quit my job and moved back to Philly to start working on own concept. I have a strong entrepreneurial upbringing. My family has a natural raw pet food business in CT (Oma's Pride), in business for almost 50 years. Simultaneously runs their e-commerce division, omaspride.com

C: Tell us about Arterial Agents?

N:    Arterial Agents is mixed-use concept combining top notch coffee (Ceremony out of Annapolis, MD) and pastry (Kermitt’s Bake Shoppe, Au Fournil, High Point, Amaranth), carefully selected independent magazines (design, travel, food, culture, LGBT), and specialty grocery from East Passyunk’s Green Aisle Grocery in a fresh, contemporary space, on the corner of historic Jeweler’s Row. 700 Sansom Street.

C: What sets Arterial Agents apart from other coffee shops?

N:  We’re a “coffee & shop” rather than a “coffee shop”, as two thirds of the space is dedicated to retail. Coffee is what brings people into the shop to discover what else we offer, and keeps them coming back to see what’s new. We’re currently the only shop in the city serving Ceremony exclusively; only CC location offering Green Aisle Grocery products; only place in Philly (even PA) to carry specific magazines. Also, we are people- focused first and look forward to building strong relationships with our customers.

C: Whats your reccomendation / Favorite thing Agents offers?

N:  Our super smooth cold-brew coffee, using Ceremony’s espresso roast steeped for 24 hours. Refreshingly tart iced hibiscus & ginger tea from Green Aisle Grocery. GAYLETTER and Grand Circus magazines (only stockist in the state for both), as I have personal connections with founders and proud to support other entrepreneurs. MY STAFF, because they are kind and passionate, with uniquely dynamic individual personalities.

C: Is Arterial Agents a good place to get work done? Wifi? Good People Watching?

N: We don’t offer any formal seating, so you’re served your beverage to-go with the encouragement to get out and explore the neighborhood and city! Big corner windows for people watching. ½ block from Washington Square Park and 2 blocks from Independence Hall & Liberty Bell.
