Lehigh Valley, PA Celebrates Pride this Weekend

Executive Director of PhillyGayCalendar

With Philadelphia LGBTQ+ Pride events on pause for the moment, we wanted to let you and fellow Philadelphians know that about an outdoor pride event in nearby Allentown this weekend.

This Sunday, August 15th from 12 P.M. – 6 P.M. the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center will be hosting Lehigh Valley Pride outdoors at the JCC of the Lehigh Valley in Allentown. Featuring performances by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star, Kylie Sonique Love and Ariel Versace.

Over 125 artists, non-profits and stores will be in attendance. Masks are highly encouraged and will be available for those who need one.

The team at Discover Lehigh Valley welcomes LGBTQ+ folks and their allies to spend the weekend up in Lehigh Valley! With a pride pre-party, interfaith service and after party, Lehigh Valley is the perfect getaway this weekend. The Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce put together an LGBTQ Friendly Business Directory of businesses that have signed the chamber’s LGBTQ pledge

Getting there is an easy, 90-minute drive up to Allentown from Center City, Philadelphia. No car? No worries! Both Martz Bus and Fullington Tours offer direct service from Philly to Allentown.

Spend the night at the luxurious Renaissance Allentown Hotel. They’re offering a special Pride Overnight package ($209/night) that includes a discounted room rate, two tickets to Pride, and a $20 non-alcohol voucher to the Hamilton Kitchen & Bar! Other accommodations in Allentown include the Jazz-Age Americus Hotel.

While you’re in Allentown for Pride, make sure to stop by neighboring Bethlehem for MusikFest. This outdoor event will feature hit DJ, Zedd, performing Friday night, the Wood Brothers on Saturday night and Black Violin to close it out on Sunday evening. Historic Hotel Bethlehem, named one of the best historic hotels in the country by USA TODAY is another great lodging option.

Whatever way you choose, make sure you visit DiscoverLehighValley.com to make your trip a great one.
