On July 4, 1965, 39 members of gay and lesbian organizations from various Eastern cities across the U.S. picketed outside Independence Hall to advocate for rights and dignity. Over the following 60 years, Philadelphia has remained a central hub for organized efforts aimed at achieving liberation for all LGBTQ+ people. This panel will serve as an educational commemoration of the original Annual Reminder picket in 1965 and will feature historians, witnesses, and organizers from different eras of liberation activism in Philadelphia.

All are welcome to attend. This free event will be held in the Skyline Room on the fourth floor at Parkway Central Library from 5:30—7:00 p.m.
