The American Pops Orchestra is joined by some of your favorite queens on December 19 at 9 PM for “Drag Out the Holly: A Holiday Drag Extravaganza”. A concert broadcast filmed live at Meridian International Center, Drag Out the Holly features performances by RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants Alexis MichelleJujubee, and Peppermint, as well as NYC queen Lagoona Bloo. The four queens are joined by singer-songwriter Bright Light Bright Light and Pennsylvania Representative Brian Sims to perform their own spin on holiday classics with The American Pops Orchestra.

Tune in for an evening hosted by Luke Frazier, APO’s Music Director and Founder, featuring classic holiday songs from “Santa Baby” to “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”. Drag Out the Holly” will be broadcast free of charge and we appreciate your contributions that allow us to continue creating content and shows like “Drag Out the Holly”.

The American Pops Orchestra is excited to partner with the Kravis Center for the Performing ArtsPFLAGSMYAL, the Henderson Equality CenterRose HavenSide by SideGay Men’s Chorus of Washington, the Queensborough Performing Arts Center, the American Conservatory TheaterOut in the OpenOutFront Minnesota, and MetroWeekly for this show!

APO is partnering with LGBTQ+ organizations for this broadcast not only to enjoy an evening of much needed holiday cheer, but to use this performance as an opportunity to promote organizations working for equality across our country. Viewers will have the option to make a contribution at registration to support the work of APO, as well as our partner organizations using unique codes. Every gift made will be split evenly between APO and the designated organization.

“Drag Out the Holly” was filmed live in Washington, DC, at Meridian International Center following strict COVID protocols to protect APO’s musicians and artists’ health and safety. This production was filmed outdoors in front of a small, live audience.
