Transgender Day of Visibility Flag Raising
Join us in celebrating the Transgender Day of Visibility with a special flag-raising ceremony at City Hall. Established in 2009 by transgender activist Rachel Crandall-Crocker, this day is dedicated to honoring the resilience and accomplishments of transgender individuals worldwide, shifting focus from the challenges they face to the recognition of their vibrant contributions to society.
We are honored to have Jasper Liem, the Executive Director of The Attic Youth Center, as our keynote speaker. A dedicated advocate for LGBTQ+ youth, Jasper has been deeply involved in the community since high school, where he initiated his school’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance. Openly transmasculine, Jasper has previously worked in behavioral health consultation at Philadelphia FIGHT’s Y-HEP Adolescent and Young Adult Health Center and was instrumental in developing gender-affirming healthcare programs. His leadership at The Attic Youth Center continues to empower and support LGBTQ+ youth in Philadelphia.
This event not only celebrates the visibility and achievements of the transgender community but also fosters a supportive environment for all attendees. We encourage community members to come together in solidarity, learn from our speakers, and engage in meaningful discussions on how to support LGBTQ+ youth during these times.
