Join us on June 25 for Gone and For Ever: a memorial ceremony and procession, directed by artist Alex Stadler (@alexstadlerartwork). Gone and For Ever – a component of William Way’s Remembrance project – honors those lost to HIV/AIDS in Philadelphia.
We are inviting all members of the public to march in the artist-led procession from William Way LGBT Community Center to The Church of St. Luke & The Epiphany. The procession will include artworks created by Stadler and his artistic team, and musicians will lead the march.
Gather with us in front of William Way (1315 Spruce Street) between 3:00-3:30 pm, with the procession to kick off by 3:45 pm. The route will be Spruce Street to Camac Street to Pine Street to 13th Street, ending at St. Luke’s (330 S. 13th Street). The ceremony will conclude on the steps of St. Luke’s, with blessings by a diverse group of faith leaders led by Rev. Jeffery Haskins. An outdoor reception will follow.
Attendance is free, though registration is encouraged to help us predict the number of attendees.
For those unable to attend in-person, the event will be live-streamed on Facebook.
Please join us to honor and remember those in our communities lost to HIV/AIDS. All are welcome!
