Leather Town Hall
Join us for a serious discussion about white supremacy in queer leather spaces. Leather Town Hall is a result of various public and candid revelations as it pertains to BIPOCS in queer leather spaces, but more specifically, Philly Dyke Night. This, as a result, led to Philly Dyke Night officially becoming a black led and ran space. However, we cannot move forward or continue without addressing the issues that brought us here from the start.
On Thu Jul 06 2023, at this virtual gathering we will hear from our BIPOC community members and discuss the ways in which white supremacy shows up and how to unpack and dismantle it. This conversation is meant to be uncomfortable and challenging for folks who identify as white. Please note that if a critique or statement comes up about the experiences of BIPOCS, or if you’re called to action, DO NOT INSTANTLY take it personal or as an attack. Please take in what’s being said and what YOU can do to be better.
In this space, we will NOT tolerate the following:
- TRANSPHOBIA
- ANTI-BLACKNESS
- XENOPHOBIA
- CLASSISM
- PRO-GENTRIFICATION
- FATPHOBIA
- RACISM
- ABLEISM
- WHOREPHOBIA
- COLORISM
OR ANY OTHER ISM OR PHOBIA THAT WILL NEGATIVELY IMPACT THE SPACE. WE WILL GIVE FOLKS A WARNING, IF THAT WARNING IS NOT TAKEN IN, YOU WILL BE EXITED FROM THE TOWNHALL.
