Movie Night: The Handmaiden

For this month’s PAQ Movie Night, we will be watching The Handmaiden together via Zoom and discussing it afterward.

The Handmaiden is a 2016 South Korean erotic psychological thriller film directed by Park Chan-wook. With help from an orphaned pickpocket (Kim Tae-ri), a Korean con man (Ha Jung-woo) devises an elaborate plot to seduce and bilk a Japanese woman (Kim Min-hee) out of her inheritance. At the 71st British Academy Film Awards, the film won the category of Best Film Not in the English Language.
