TMAN Facilitator, Advocate, Artist and Doula Christian Lovehall will launch a new book this holiday season, called “My Name is Troy”, illustrated by Black Trans Man artist, Chamar M. Cooper. The children’s book tells the story of Troy, a young Black Trans boy who is proud of who he is and protected and loved by his family. It features 15 beautifully illustrated pages of images not normally seen in the array of Trans books presently on the market, that are often written by white cisgender authors.

Knowing the importance of representation, Lovehall hopes to fill a void for young Black Trans boys, who are too often ignored or made an afterthought.

The book will be available for purchase on December 6, 2020, on LuLu, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kindle, and iBooks and at small local bookstores across the country.

This Virtual Book Release Party will feature a Live Reading and Discussion, with a portion of proceeds donated to the Trans Masculine Advocacy Network aka TMAN, a support group, and brotherhood based in Philly for Trans Men and Transmasculine individuals of color, created in 2006.
