The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education and William Way invite you to celebrate National Coming Out Day with a guided hike and an outdoor open mic on Saturday, October 10th from 12-3pm.

Led by an inspiring environmental educator, this guided hike will focus on the scientific exploration of queerness and gender fluidity in nature.

The hike will be about an hour long on the trails at the Schuylkill Center. Weather conditions can impact trail conditions, which are sometimes narrow or rocky. Visitors are advised to wear comfortable, weather appropriate clothing. There is free onsite parking and restrooms at the Schuylkill Center.

The guided hike will then be followed by light refreshments and an open mic at the outdoor amphitheater, hosted by Mary Groce. This open mic is an opportunity for participants to present on “Coming Out in Nature” – sharing coming out stories, performing a song, reciting a poem, whatever they like!

This event is free to attend. Registration is highly recommended for event updates!
