Soft Disco Presents: Honcho

In this time of transition, Autumn, Soft Disco is happy to bring you a brand new event series. Soft Disco is a creative production agency that creates immersive and inclusive dance experiences through site activations for gatherings, brands, and spaces. We are dedicated to the creation, facilitation, and continuation of the existence of a safer queer space, where acceptance, euphoria, and love are in the air.
Soft Disco will be producing an immersive experience combining the dance floors of the nightclub with the walls of a gallery space creating a uniquely visceral experience highlighting the sheer potential these spaces hold where we dance together.

Its been way too long since Honcho has been back to Philly and hopefully this will mark a decided shift in our futures. Honcho has really paved a proper road for dance music in America. Whether it is curating a list of incredible talent for their mix series or bookings for their events, they can certainly be considered a high water mark for how to do it, and do it well. It is without question their events in Pittsburgh have simply elevated the bar on what many of us involved in this strive to create – an atmosphere of inclusiveness, of freedom of self, and most of all – fun & excitement. If anything, their model of involvement in the dance music community writ large demonstrates one of the most important qualities we need as a whole: an appreciation & sincerity shown through their actions and activities.

As a trio and as individuals, they have all served some of the most exciting sets (please, treat yourself and take the time to hear their Glastonbury Set) time and time again – whether Not Mass streams or their very own Honcho Campout, we should consider ourselves lucky to be able to bear witness to their contributions musically, organizationally, creatively.
We simply could not be more excited to have them here for the first Soft Disco event.

Garcon Paradiso [Pleasuredome] Philadelphia

Bio:
Garcon Paradiso is co-organizer and resident DJ behind Philly’s queer underground party Pleasuredome, which in recent times has taken the form of a bi-monthly outdoor block party collaboration with local drag rager Alt Slut 69 at Love City Brewing. With experience opening up the evening as well as closing out the early morning in underground venues around the city, his eclectic sets range from deep house and Baltimore club to electro and techno bangers.
