This event is a part of DBHIDS’ Beyond Expectations, a continuing series of storytelling events designed to gather community members and raise awareness around maintaining health and wellness for men and boys of color. Started in 2015, Beyond Expectations brings together diverse voices who share their stories of recovery, resilience and self-determination in the hopes of inspiring others to address the challenges before them. Through DBHIDS’ Engaging Males of Color (EMOC) initiative, we aim to increase conversations around and end stigma associated with behavioral health conditions and work to create healthier individuals, families and communities throughout Philadelphia.
