Out singer-songwriter Tom Goss appeared at The Rrazz Room in New Hope, PA, on July 28.
This evening Tom Goss appeared on the intimate stage of the Rrazz Room where you are never more than 20 feet from the performer. He is a personable, attractive man in his 30s, who sings his soulful ballads along with upbeat comedy songs. He peppers his performance with anecdotes of his life along with his music. He told us about how he was a school wrestler in Wisconsin, yet never found his teammates attractive, even though they were naked much of the time. He told us that he believed himself to be non-sexual, since he wasn’t attracted to men his age or to women, so he attended seminary to become a Catholic priest, which didn’t work out, so he struck out on a career in music, luckily for us. He related to his audience that seeing and admiring chubby men was a turn-on, which finally made him realize that he was gay. He has been in a relationship with Matthew Briggs for 13 years. They were married in 2010.
Among the songs this evening were his new single, “Round In All The Right Places,” a love song to his husbear. At one point, he sings about his cute “Flintstone feet.” Other numbers were “We Have Enough,” and Dusty Springfield’s “Son of a Preacher Man.” Tom Goss also spoke of a new album inspired by the depth of his love for his husband. One song from the new album was “Make Believe.” Audience members included heterosexuals as well as A-List gays from the mansions of nearby Solebury to caterers from Doylestown. All were totally attentive and loved every minute of the show.
In a ten-year career, Tom Goss has amassed enviable achievements and his audience continues to grow. He is always touring. He recently performed at Bear Week in Provincetown.
Tom Goss has a comprehensive Wikipedia profile, a website, presence on a number of social platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, acted in a few films, and provided music for some. He even has an Amazon presence. Oh, and he sells merchandise on his website ( www.tomgossmusic.com ) which includes not only his music, but intoxicating beefcake calendars of himself. So if Tom Goss is a name new to you, you owe it to yourself to know his music better.
