AIDS FUND HOSTS 2024 BLACK-TIE GayBINGO!

Executive Director of PhillyGayCalendar

Hey there, fabulous readers! Are you ready to dive into an evening filled with sparkle, laughter, and heartwarming moments? Mark your calendars for April 6, because the annual Black-Tie GayBINGO event at the luxurious Loews Philadelphia Hotel is the place to be! This isn’t just any bingo night; it’s a dazzling blend of glamorous drag queen performances, six thrilling rounds of bingo (with a twist!), cocktails that’ll have you dancing in your seats, a silent auction filled with irresistible finds, a sumptuous dinner, and dancing until you drop. All this fun serves a noble cause—raising funds for those living with HIV disease in the Philly area. Black-tie is optional, but bringing your fun spirit is mandatory!

This year, the spotlight shines brightly on Ronald Collman, MD, the esteemed Director of the Penn Center for AIDS Research, who will be honored with the Fierce and Fabulous Award. This award celebrates a hero who has significantly contributed to the Philadelphia HIV/AIDS and/or LGBTQ+ communities. Dr. Collman shared his enthusiasm, “Keeping the fight against AIDS going is such a high priority, and it’s my honor to support AIDS Fund, which directly reaches and helps the most vulnerable people in our community touched by HIV/AIDS.”

Ron’s dedication is nothing short of inspiring. From his groundbreaking research to his unwavering commitment to the community, including his significant involvement in establishing the first national antiretroviral treatment program in sub-Saharan Africa, Ron’s life work has been a beacon of hope and progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

And let’s not forget about the incredible Maddy Milan, who will be stepping into the spotlight to receive a Silver Stiletto in appreciation of her 10 years of service as a Bingo Verifying Diva (BVD) at GayBINGO. Maddy, who lives in Fishtown and proudly holds the title of Miss Hammonton Pride 2022, embodies the spirit of dedication and joy that this event celebrates.

An Evening to Remember

Taking place at the Regency Ballroom of the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, the night promises to be an unforgettable mix of entertainment and philanthropy. Tickets are $200 per person, but the experience? Priceless. With sponsors like PECO, Philly AIDS Thrift, and Jefferson Health (to name a few), you know you’re in for a top-tier event.

But wait, there’s more! If you thought Black-Tie GayBINGO was all we had up our sequined sleeves, think again. AIDS Fund’s monthly GayBINGO events are not to be missed, with themes that range from DivaPalooza to Divas and Dragons, and even The Real Housewives of GayBINGO Ultimate Girls Trip! These events not only provide a night of fun and frolic but also raise vital funds for HIV/AIDS emergency financial assistance and awareness efforts. To date, over $4.8 million has been raised through these joyous gatherings.

So, are you ready to join us in making a difference while having the time of your life? For tickets and more information, call 215-486-4347 or visit aidsfundphilly.org.
