Philadelphia Black Pride 2026: The 250 Black LGBTQ+ Changemakers Celebration
In 2026, Philadelphia Black Pride proudly presents a historic celebration honoring 250 Black LGBTQ+ Changemakerswho have helped shape the cultural, civic, and social landscape of Philadelphia. As the nation marks the 250th anniversary of the United States, Philadelphia Black Pride is uplifting the stories, leadership, and impact of Black LGBTQ+ individuals whose contributions have too often gone unrecognized.
Taking place April 23–26, 2026, Philadelphia Black Pride Weekend will bring together community members, leaders, artists, advocates, and allies for a dynamic series of events centered on celebration, visibility, wellness, culture, and community empowerment.
Throughout the weekend, Philadelphia Black Pride will host signature experiences including an Opening Reception at the historic Warwick Rittenhouse, community panels, cultural programming, nightlife experiences, wellness activations, youth-centered programming, and the Thrive Summit, all designed to highlight the brilliance, resilience, and leadership of Black LGBTQ+ people in Philadelphia and beyond.
The 250 Black LGBTQ+ Changemakers initiative serves as the centerpiece of the celebration, recognizing individuals across generations who have made meaningful contributions in areas such as activism, public service, arts and culture, business, health equity, and community organizing. These honorees represent the legacy and future of Black queer leadership in the city where American democracy was born.
For more than two decades, Philadelphia Black Pride has served as a cornerstone of community connection and cultural celebration, drawing thousands of attendees each year and creating spaces where Black LGBTQ+ people are seen, supported, and celebrated.
In this milestone year, Philadelphia Black Pride invites the city — and the nation — to join us in honoring our changemakers, uplifting our stories, and celebrating the power of Black queer community.
