“The Craft” (1996) is often recognized for its themes that resonate with LGBTQ+ audiences, particularly through its portrayal of outcasts and the intense bonds between the central characters. While the film does not explicitly address LGBTQ+ issues, its depiction of four teenage girls who turn to witchcraft to cope with societal rejection and personal trauma speaks to themes of otherness and identity that are pertinent to many in the LGBTQ+ community. The dynamics between the characters, especially the power struggles and deep connections, provide a subtext that can be interpreted through a queer lens, even if not overtly intended by the filmmakers
A pop up film series and safe space for LGBTQ folks who enjoy 80s / 90s classic film nostalgia. Bring a date or come single looking for a fellow film geek like yourself! There will be a nostalgic discussion panel, trivia, music, movie snacks and lots of fun!
