This weekend we celebrate and honor their courage to start the fight that we are still fighting today.....and winning!

You Can Get Fired for Getting Married in PA

State Reps. Brian Sims and Dan Frankel, Montgomery County Commissioner Josh Shapiro, former Philadelphia Councilman Jim Kenney and Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations Executive Director Rue Landau welcomed today's historic U.S. Supreme Court ruling on marriage equality. However, they warned that new state and federal laws are still needed to address the significant anti-LGBT discrimination that remains.

Philadelphia, PA - The Board of Directors for the William Way LGBT Community Center is happy to announce that Christopher D. Bartlett has accepted the position of Executive Director. Chris brings a wealth of experience to the Center, including being Interim Co-Director of the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund, Director of the LGBT Leadership Initiative, Director of the LGBT Community Assessment, Co-Founder/Trainer/Facilitator at the Gay Men's Health Leadership Academy, Program Development and Evaluation Consultant to the AIDS Activities Coordinating Office at the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, and as Executive Director of the SafeGuards Gay Men's Health Project throughout the 1990's.

Chris is well-known to the LGBT community in Philadelphia and looks forward to working with the community to continue to build on the progress of the past several years in fundraising and programming development. He has a BA from Brown University, Providence, RI, in Classics and a BA in Ancient History and Ancient Philosophy from the New College at Oxford University in Oxford, England.

On Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 5:30 PM, Chris will attend Building Bash to meet and greet all of you. If you have not yet responded as attending the reception, please do so by emailing Josh Kruger at Tickets to the reception are $75.00 but complimentary to Cornerstone Society members.
