You go to any of the restaurants on the site, eat your dinner and that’s it. You don’t pay extra, or have to do anything special, and BAM you just donated to an amazing cause. So bitches, no excuses. Miss Information will be out and about, I even bought spanks to make sure i can eat an extra large meal to donate as much as I can to the cause.
Not sure where to go? Well never fear my hungry little hippos, Miss Information asked around to find out where some of the other power gays were going to eat. So check out the list below and maybe you will see some of them out:
I’ll be dining at Route 6 on North Broad street, as the request of Action Aids. I think Dining Out for Life is a very creative way to help a cause we all care deeply about and at the same time a chance to support the hospitality industry of our city.
I am going to dine at More Than Just Ice Cream, because they have been supporting the community for 30+ years and they are a community fixture. They are also GLBT owned and operated. I dine out for life to financially support HIV/AIDS prevention and to promote solidarity for the cause within the community.
If the weather is right, you’ll find me at Knock. Even my dog can help Dine Out (outside, of course). It’s a great way to give to the community while also getting together with friends for an important cause.
I’ll be dining at Terra-the gayest place to eat in the Gayborhood, under Tavern on Camac. I’ve been hosting many cabaret events at Tavern, which we combined with Terra, and we donated funds from these events to local gay organizations like Attic Youth-so I jump when given any chance to add more energy to a great cause. I go out each year for Dining Out For Life to show my support for Aids research and support-there has been major strides in finding a cure and I feel we are so close to attaining that goal. It would be amazing to see that happen during my lifetime.
We never miss Dining Out for Life and normally go out with a group of friends. This year, we’re going to Vedge – one of the best new restaurants in the city (just got 3 bells from craig laban) and in the heart of the gayborhood. Throughout the year, we make a point of visiting those restaurants that support the event. The Mayor also supports the event every year…this year, he’ll be at Route 6.
Sadly I have to miss this year’s Dining out for Life, but I love the cause, primarily because it brings the topic of HIV/AIDS to “mainstream” community and reminds people that the struggle continues!! Last year I went to Perch Pub
I’m going to Fork to join a group of community leaders to support the wonderful work of ActionAIDS through Dining Out for Life. William Way board member Brad Richards invited me to the dinner, and he’s spearheading an effort to have many community organizations represented at that terrific Old City restaurant, so I want to support him. I love Dining out for Life– my friend Michael Byrne (aka Carlota ‘Ttendant), Director of Development at ActionAIDS, has helped create one of the most wonderful and longstanding fundraisers to fight AIDS and support our community. Everyone should dine out to fight AIDS!
I’m heading to lunch with the office to Pod in West Philly. The great thing about Dining Out for Life is it’s not just about dinner. You can hit one place for lunch, another for dinner and give even more to Action AIDS. It’s one of my favorite fund raisers of the year. Any excuse for some good food and fun friends.
