SundayOUT! Couldn’t have been better.

Executive Director of PhillyGayCalendar

Ok gays and girls, time to shake off the winter dust, come out of your hibernating slumbers, and throw on those booty shorts you’ve been saving all winter because the pride season has begun! This past Sunday was the yearly SundayOUT! Hosted by the Equality Forum, men and women, both gay and straight, were out in droves on this beautiful spring afternoon to regroup with old friends while getting some nice tan lines from the sun. Of course thank you to GPTMC for allowing the free trolley to pick everyone up within the gayborhood, it’s definitely a smart choice so we all could avoid walking way up to the piazza.

There was such a collection of vendors out and everyone was enjoying the offerings. From Philadelphia casino booths with free giveaways to local artists selling custom tee-shirts and photos, there was legitimately something for everyone. And let’s not forget to mention how sexy everyone looked! I mean really, I don’t know what I was missing over the winter but I feel like I might have sprained my neck with how fast my head was turning to look at some of you guys…winter was all! This list of hotties also included Brian Sims, Philly’s newest sexy politician, who made his rounds all afternoon speaking with everyone that came up to him. With some of Philly’s finest photographers like Patrick Hagerty, Tara Lessard, and Jonathan Hernandez, on the job, be sure to check out their pages to see if you were spotted on camera!

But besides all the eye candy and shopping, it gets even better! Neon Hitch, singer of the newest hit ‘F** You Better’, performed on stage. She was a huge draw and many stayed just to watch her perform. Israel, being the feature country this year, also had a Drag Queen perform onstage live. And of course props to the extremely talented dance troupe that got the whole event underway.

The event was of course a huge success and if you didn’t get a chance to make it out last Sunday, don’t worry, this is only the beginning of a new season of Pride. And with current political issues like the NC decision to ultimately ban gay marriage, strong LGBTQ support will be needed this year. So get those tank tops ready because in just a few weeks Philly Pride will be underway, featuring famous talk show hostess Wendy Williams! If you were out, like I mentioned above, be sure to keep a lookout for feature photos from the event.
