Executive Director of PhillyGayCalendar

Just a few days ago, Philly AIDS Thrift (P.A.T.) announced their excitement via Facebook … they were about to donate their one millionth dollar! P.A.T's October 2014 donation of $20,000.00 to the AIDS Fund brought their total cash contributions to date to $931,000.00.

"We had a store board meeting this week and crunched the numbers. We are a GO for breaking the ONE MILLION DOLLAR mark in January. We'll be making our first donation from our sparkling new satellite store, Philly AIDS Thrift @ Giovanni's Room (12th and Pine)" -Philly Aids Thrift Facebook

Philly Aids Thrift donates mass amounts of money to Philly area AIDS service providers. In addition to its cash contributions it partners with these same service agencies to provide free store vouchers to clients in need of clothing and household necessities.

The history of P.A.T. is filled with rapid motion success. Philly AIDS Thrift opened its first store at 514 Bainbridge St. in Autumn of 2005. It expanded to a warehouse sales and processing space at 527 Bainbridge in 2006. In July of 2011, it moved all its operations to 710 S. 5th Street. In August of 2014 P.A.T expanded once again and became proprietors of the shop formally known as Giovanni's Room. They renamed the shop PhillyAIDSThrift@Giovanni's Room and have been serving the community successfully for just over 3 months.

"…And oh yeah, we will be celebrating all that at both stores in January. We haven't picked the weekend yet, but we'll let you know soon…." -Philly Aids Thrift Facebook

Congratulations P.A.T. We know we'll be at your party, rooting you on and offering support for many years to come.
