#WeAreAllClean

Executive Director of PhillyGayCalendar

If you're a good person, you've showered at least once in the last 24 hours… If you're a sexy homo (or hetero) you've definitely taken at least one "sexy" selfie in the last 24 hours… Now you've got an excuse to combine these two activities AND post them to the various social media platforms for the societal praise you depend on to get through the day.

Before you get your pitch forks and storm my apartment for what may appear to be an attack on the gay norm, I'm not proclaiming to be above a shameless selfie, seriously my Instagram is full of them. I'm just above "Shower Selfies" as a way to affirm your support for HIV / AIDS.

Confused? You must have missed the latest "trend" trying to piggy back on the success of the ALS "Ice Bucket Challenge." A new campaign is sprouting on Twitter / Instagram called #weareALLclean. "I was inspired by the use of the word 'clean', especially common in gay culture, to describe oneself as STI/STD free. Indirectly this implies that HIV-positive people are somehow 'dirty'", says campaign founder Jack Mackenroth. The rules are simple:

• Take a selfie or Vine video of yourself in the shower (keep it PG-13)
• Post your photo on social media with the caption "Take HIV Shower Selfie Challenge raise $$ for AIDS cure bit.ly/CUREAIDS #weareALLclean
• Challenge 3 or more other people to participate!
(Optional) DONATE!! Please consider a small donation if you are able. Every penny counts! bit.ly/CUREAIDS

I know there are definitely some local Philebrities I would enjoy seeing take part in this challenge… (and if you do, tag @PhillyGayCalendar)
