As of last night, the famous (read: infamous), 13th Street Gourmet Pizza, better known as ‘Gay Pizza’ or ‘Homo Hut’ has closed!

A large “Cease Operations“sticker was placed on the door (first reported by Chris Balbi) stating the venue is in violation of not having a food license.

Gay Pizza was a very popular haunt to many in the Gayborhood, a perfect post bar snack after leaving Woody’s and/ or Voyeur, and the best (read: convenient) place to stuff your face with greasy food to absorb the alcohol before snagging a waiting taxi on 13th street.

For those still wanting post-bar, late-night pizza we suggest Mama Angelina’s just down the street at 1337 Locust St.

And if you want a little bit more before the bars close, don’t forget Boxers has that new pizza oven. They will be revealing a new menu soon, so stay tuned for a review!
