Franky’s Foxes are on FIRE!

Executive Director of PhillyGayCalendar

**Thump** That's the sound of my jaw hitting the floor reptitivley during Franky Bradley's monthly drag show "Franky's Foxes."  Last Sunday, I took a friend up on a last minute invite to check out the latest drag show to grace the gayborhood, and I'll be honest I was a little hesistant at first. I had already had a week full of drag, between "Divine/Intervention," "GayBill," and "Drag Wars." I was ready to let the ladies do their thing while I caught up on the latest episode of "WayWard Pines" (seriously, a great show…). Alas, I took my dad's advice about never turning down a chance to see something new, and trekked my way to Franky Bradley's. It also helped that there were two, $5 drink specials.

The loud line-up featured Iris Spectre, Maria Top Catt, Zsa Zsa St. James, Lady Poison, Ann Artist, Omyra Lynn, and Ms. Karma. Each queen showcased their own unique qualities, talent, and artistry which helped me stay engaged with the show, and NOT on my phone. The Foxes are said to be a direct representation of Franky Bradley’s philosophy, “Something for everyone." Whether you are looking for sexy, quirky, or something completely out of the box, it can be found at a Fox performance.

I wasn't the only one that thought so!

The show opened with a group number, and it was during their over-the-top, choreographed rendition of "Burlesque" that I knew this show had something going for it. Dedication. The queens clearly came out to werq. Flawless syncronization and impeccable lip-synching led me to believe these "women" put time and effort into setting the stage for the evenening.

The show progressed and the high bar the ladies set at the top of the show, just kept getting pushed higher. From Lady Poison's haunting rendition of Beyoncé's "Haunted," to Maria Topcatt's back up dancers, every queen was out to showcase their skills and it payed off.

I know you think you've seen it all, but next time the Foxes come to Franky's, do yourself a favor and take a trip upstairs to see what fuss is about!
