A phenomenal Jersey Boys lights up the Walnut Street Theatre

Although retired since 2014, I still relish opportunities to teach, write, and share opinions.

Jersey Boys, the Broadway musical powerhouse, is now appearing onstage at Philadelphia’s Walnut Street Theatre.

Seeing this production of Jersey Boys will thrill and delight you. For fans of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, it is unmissable, especially this production which will only be here until November 3rd.

Immaculate, transcendent singing, outstanding acting authenticity, and production values of the highest caliber make this Jersey Boys unmissable. The live orchestra in the pit played with flawless tone and precision.

Where has the miraculous artist  Will Stephan Connell as Frankie Valli been hiding his candle under a bushel? What a vocal range. His sound is the incarnation of Valli himself. Keep in mind that he does this once or twice a day, nearly every day. Truly phenomenal. They sing many Four Seasons hits, such as “Rag Doll,” “Bye, Bye, Baby,” “Working My Way Nack To You Babe,” and many more.

The other actors all shone. They include Tommy Craig, Joseph Cullinane, Ryan Kleinman, Kimberly Maxson, Eddie Olmo II, Eddie Orange, Kerri Rose, Ken Sandberg, Audrey Biehl Simmons, Chris Stevens, and the indefatigable, irresistible,  irreplaceable Fran Prisco.

Young and coming actors named Ethan Shane Broitman, and Jerrod Ganesh were Extras. Mr. Ganesh was an exemplary mobster, and musician. Extra is the term for this star-in-the-making.

The Walnut Street Theatre is without a doubt, the preeminent theatre company in Philadelphia.

Subscribers have the best of all possible worlds. Not only do they receive discounts,  but they can also ask, and receive upgraded positions in the best seats. I had the privilege of chatting with long-term subscribers. Over a few years, they moved steadily up to better seats. This season they were on the aisle in Row F. Not too shabby!

Future shows at the Walnut include ELF: The Broadway Musical, Driving Miss Daisy, Hay Fever, and Dreamgirls. For more information, visit
