Data Deletion Instructions

How to request deletion of your personal data from PhillyGayCalendar.com. We respect your right to control your information.

Effective Date: April 2, 2026  ·  Last Updated: April 2, 2026

Your Right to Data Deletion

Under privacy laws including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and other applicable state and international privacy regulations, you have the right to request that we erase the personal data we hold about you.

We take these requests seriously and will process them promptly — typically within 30 days of receiving a verifiable request.

Good to Know

You do not need to provide a reason for your deletion request. Simply tell us what you’d like deleted and we’ll take care of it.

How to Request Deletion

Option 1 — Email

Send us an email

Email [email protected] with the subject line “Data Deletion Request” and include the following:

  • Your full name
  • The email address(es) associated with your account or submissions
  • What data you want deleted (e.g., “my account,” “my event submissions,” “my newsletter subscription,” or “everything”)
Option 2 — Email Newsletter

Unsubscribe from emails

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it to immediately remove yourself from our mailing list. No email to us required.

Option 3 — Facebook Login

Revoke Facebook permissions

If you previously logged in via Facebook, you can remove PGC’s access from your Facebook account:

  • Go to Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites
  • Find PhillyGayCalendar and click Remove
  • This revokes our access to your Facebook data. To also delete any data we’ve already stored, send us an email using Option 1.

What We Delete

When we process a deletion request, we will erase the following personal data associated with your identity:

  • WordPress account — username, email, display name, and any associated profile data
  • Email subscriber records — your email address and any stored preferences
  • Contact form messages — any messages you sent us via our contact forms
  • Event submission metadata — your name and email stored as the submitter of events

What We May Retain

In certain limited circumstances, we may retain some data even after a deletion request:

  • Published event content — event titles, descriptions, dates, and venues that have been published publicly may be retained as part of the community’s historical record. We will remove your personal contact information from these listings.
  • Legal obligations — if we are required by law to retain certain records (e.g., for tax, legal, or compliance purposes), we will inform you and retain only what is legally required.
  • Anonymized analytics — aggregate, non-identifiable analytics data (e.g., page view counts) cannot be traced back to you and is not subject to deletion.

Response Timeline

We aim to acknowledge all deletion requests within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. If the request is complex or we need to verify your identity, we may take up to 45 days and will notify you of the extension.

We will not discriminate against you in any way for exercising your deletion rights.

Identity Verification

To protect your data from unauthorized deletion, we may ask you to verify your identity before processing a request. This is typically done by confirming the email address associated with your account. We will never ask for sensitive documents like passports or government IDs for a standard deletion request.
