Stir Lounge

Stir Lounge is a lesbian-owned LGBTQ+ bar tucked into an alley near Rittenhouse Square — the only queer bar in Philly located outside the Gayborhood. Co-owners Holly Johnson and Stacey Vey opened Stir as a chic alternative to the neighborhood’s dive bar scene, and it’s become a beloved fixture for after-work happy hours, late-night dancing, and community events. The intimate space features exposed brick, signature cocktails (ask about the “Big Prick”), and a packed weekly calendar including drag watch parties, trivia nights, speed dating, and their legendary Stirsday Thursday $1 drink night. WNBA games play on the TVs, DJs spin sapphic and disco hits on weekends, and regulars greet each other with hugs. It’s been voted “Philadelphia’s Most Stylish LGBT Bar” and is a go-to for lesbians, queer women, and the broader LGBTQ+ community.
