You’ve heard of Amish country. Bet you didn’t expect drag queens.

An award-winning documentary, a photo exhibition celebrating rural LGBTQ+ life, and a homegrown drag show come together for one unforgettable night. Amish Country Queer is a film about Lancaster’s queer nightlife and drag culture, telling the story of what it means to be visibly, joyfully, unapologetically queer in a place the world told you wasn’t built for you. Tulle Queer is an ongoing portrait series by trans artist Brady Pappas that honors the queer icons of the 717 region, using tulle as a recurring visual motif to create a vibrant, community-rooted celebration of visibility and resilience. The Angel Hour, Lancaster’s second-longest-running drag show, celebrates five years of glamour and sisterhood, created by Charlize Angelz.

This is a night of celebration. Of queer bodies, queer lives, and queer autonomy. Of breaking the binaries and changing the narratives we’ve been handed about where we can live, whom we can love, and who we can be. Queerness has never been confined to city limits, and this night proves it.

And this is where the future gets made. Not at the center, but at the fringes.

Amish Country Queer: A Night of Film, Art & Drag is presented by Little Echo Productions and co-presented by cinéSPEAK and the Cannonball Hub.
