BILLY STRAYHORN: Openly gay throughout his life, Strayhorn formed significant connections, including a three-decade collaboration with Duke Ellington, during which he co-wrote iconic compositions such as “Take the ‘A’ Train.” Despite his contributions being often overlooked, his influence on jazz is now recognized, marking him as a pivotal figure in the genre.
