KICKING OUT TRANSPHOBIA
Philadelphia the Kicking Out Transphobia is back and this year we will kick off with the tournament #Transgenderawarenessweek. Each year between November 13 – 19, people and organizations around the country participate in Transgender Awareness Week to help raise the visibility about transgender people and address issues members of the community face.
Starfinder will host the fourth edition of the Kicking Out Transphobia. Starfinder is a sports-based youth development organization that combines soccer with mentoring, education, and leadership development, inspiring youth to assess and develop their talents despite social and economic obstacles and helping them achieve their full potential.
This year the tournament will be happens Saturday Nov. 11th with the 7v7 Women’s & Non-binary Division, teams are welcome as well as individuals looking for a team, the tournament will continue Sunday with the 5v5 Men’s & Non-binary Division. The tournament will be the kickoff for Trans Awareness Week and thanks to the support by Trans Justice Funding Project we are inviting all the clubs and supporters from all over the world to pledge for Trans Inclusion in Sports hosting an exhibition match, Pickup or league during Week of Action. The first 25 teams registered will receive a scarf and bracelets to bring awareness for the trans community. The Tournament charity will continue their mission of raising funds for the trans community, Giving back is why the tournament started in the past tournament in Washington DC we raised over $2000 for the Wanda Aslton House in Washington DC, this year charities will be Ark of Safety, Morris Home, Rainbow Room Project,
