This June, the Free Library of Philadelphia celebrates Pride Month with events, programs, and resources that amplify LGBTQ+ voices and stories.
Everyone is welcome and everyone belongs at the Free Library. We value the LGBTQ+ community and remain committed to providing high-quality programs, services, and materials by and for members of the LGBTQ+ community, including transgender people and youth.
This year’s Pride Month theme is Together We Thrive, focusing on the importance of community, storytelling, and creativity.
Pride on the Parkway with the Philadelphia Freedom Band
Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
Join the Philadelphia Freedom Band for the Free Library’s annual Pride concert, featuring a live performance of familiar songs in celebration of Pride Month.
Talking Walls with Marcellus Armstrong
Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Marcellus Armstrong will screen his documentary short film Talking Walls, which brings together multiple voices reflecting on the language, sound, touch, history, and meaning of public and private Black and queer spaces.
Drag Queen and Drag King Storytimes
Families can join special Pride Month storytimes across the Free Library, including Drag Queen Storytime with Brittany Lynn, Drag King Storytime with Brad Habit, and Storytime and Art Activity: What Kind of Queen? with Icon Ebony Fierce and illustrator Cindy Lozito.
How To Queer A Film with Vernon Jordan, III
Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
Local artist and 2023 Pew Fellow Vernon Jordan, III will present a curated selection of short films and lead participants through a poetry and screenwriting workshop.

Additional Pride-Related Programming
The Free Library of Philadelphia is offering additional Pride-related programming across the city. Highlights include performances and family programming with Ants on a Log, Trans Storytime events, author talks, community conversations, arts programming, and the upcoming Trans by Trans Book Fair on July 25.
