Pride Poetry Slam
Centered around truth-telling and storytelling, the Pride Poetry Slam amplifies LGBTQ+ voices through spoken word performances exploring identity, resistance, humor, grief, love, and survival. Held at Val’s Lesbian Bar in Queen Village — Philadelphia’s first lesbian bar in over five years — the slam is one of the most intimate and emotionally resonant events of Philly Pride 2026.
Featured poets perform alongside open-floor slots for community voices. Expect everything from polished slam pieces to raw first-time readings, all in service of celebrating queer Philly through language.
Hosted as part of Philly Pride 365’s 2026 Round Table panel series. Val’s Lesbian Bar is at 327 Bainbridge Street in Queen Village — a quick Uber from the Gayborhood, and a must-visit spot for queer women, trans, and nonbinary Philadelphians.
