Situational Beaver

Situational Beaver is a new live comedy created by Jake Symbol, Lea Devon Sorrentino, and Chip Sinton, premiering as part of the 2026 Philadelphia Fringe Festival.

Inspired by the visual style, social rules, and moral lessons of the 1950s sitcom Leave It to Beaver, the show reimagines the wholesome nuclear family through a queer and absurdist lens. After Beaver wears a new outfit to school and returns home with a black eye, his father, Ward, becomes convinced that Beaver’s emerging sexuality and romantic interests are leading him down a dangerous path. What follows is an increasingly unhinged attempt to restore order to the family.

Performances take place Sunday, September 20th at 7 PM and Wednesday, September 23rd at 8 PM at Vox Populi.
