Avery Goodname is a Philadelphia drag performer who describes her own act as a metatheatrical cartoon clown: mini-musicals built from the most ridiculous premise she can think of, drawn from late 1990s cartoons, the Muppets and the theater for young audiences she grew up on in Philly. She went viral for her absurdist take on drag on the competition series Camp Wannakiki, and the Philadelphia Inquirer photographed her performing at the Last Stand Jam outside the University of the Arts. She is a fixture of a Philly drag scene she describes as small, fiercely trans and unafraid to push the envelope.
