In a move that sheds just a glimmer of good light upon the Grand Old Party, Republican senator Roy McDonald is defying his socially conservative peers and  casting a vote in favor of marriage equality for gays. Says McDonald, “I’m tired of Republican-Democrat politics. I’m tired of blowhard radio people, blowhard television people, blowhard newspapers… I am trying to do the right thing.”

But here’s the real kicker. In a fist-pumpingly righteous message to the haters, our ally across the aisle adds, “You might not like that. You might be very cynical about that. Well, fuck it, I don’t care what you think.”

Time to step up your game, Tom Corbett.
