On June 6, BOS Philly takes over The Fillmore Philadelphia for PHYSICAL — the biggest Pride party in Philadelphia history. Whether this is your first circuit event or you’re a seasoned veteran, here’s everything you need to know before you walk through those doors.
It’s a 1980s Fitness Camp Takeover
The theme is PHYSICAL — think neon-soaked, sweat-drenched, 1980s aerobics class energy cranked up to a full-scale Pride party. Picture Jane Fonda meets Studio 54, with a massive sound system and 2,600 of your closest friends. The vibe is playful, theatrical, and unapologetically over the top. This isn’t a party that takes itself too seriously — it’s a party that takes fun seriously.
The Fillmore Is Three Parties in One
The Fillmore Philadelphia in Fishtown isn’t just big — it’s a complex. PHYSICAL takes over the entire building with three distinct spaces:
Main Hall — This is the big room. The dance floor. The DJs. The lights. The energy. Over 2,600 capacity with industrial chic architecture and a sound system that hits you in the chest. This is where the party lives.
Ajax Hall — Need to catch your breath? Ajax Hall is the chill-out zone. Decompress, grab a drink, have a conversation you can actually hear, and recharge before you dive back in.
VIP Mezzanine — Elevated views of the main floor with a premium experience. If you want to see the whole spectacle from above, this is your spot.
The DJ Lineup Is International
Two of the biggest names in queer dance music are flying in from Europe to play this party.
Sharon O’Love (UK) opens the night. She’s been a force on the global circuit for over 20 years, with residencies across Amsterdam, Cologne, Munich, and Antwerp, and a sound rooted in trance and uplifting progressive house.
At midnight, Ben Bakson (Germany) takes the decks. Resident DJ at XLSIOR Mykonos, veteran of White Party Palm Springs and the 2024 Grammy after-party, and one of the most in-demand queer DJs on the planet. He goes until the lights come on.
Dress the Part (or Don’t — No Wrong Answers)
The theme is 1980s fitness, so lean into it. Think: neon headbands, leg warmers, crop tops, short shorts, spandex, wristbands, high-cut bodysuits, jockstraps-as-outerwear, and anything Richard Simmons would approve of. The more ridiculous, the better. This is the one night where a sweatband counts as formal wear.
That said, there’s no dress code. Come in full costume, come in a harness, come in a tank top and jeans. The only requirement is that you show up ready to have a good time.
Pace Yourself — It Goes Until 4 AM
This is a seven-hour party. Read that again. Seven hours. Doors at 9 PM, music until 4 AM. The biggest mistake first-timers make is going full-throttle at 10 PM and being done by midnight — right when Ben Bakson is just getting started.
Eat a real dinner before you arrive. Hydrate between drinks. Use Ajax Hall to take breaks. The best part of the night happens between 1 AM and 3 AM, so plan accordingly.
Stateside Vodka Is Pouring — Cards Only, No Cash
The bars are stocked by Stateside Vodka and the drinks are strong. Important detail: the venue is cashless. Credit and debit cards only. Leave the crumpled twenties at home and make sure your Apple Pay is set up. The lines move fast when nobody’s fumbling for change.
There Will Be Performers
The DJs are the backbone, but they’re not the only show. Expect go-go dancers, drag queens, and stage performances throughout the night. BOS Philly doesn’t just throw a party — they produce an experience. If you were at Opulence in 2024, you know what’s coming. If you weren’t, just know: the stage energy at these events is next level.
Charge Your Phone — There’s an Instagram Station
PHYSICAL will have a dedicated Instagram photo station so you can capture the moment with the production value it deserves. Between that, the lighting, the costumes, and the crowd, your camera roll is going to be doing a lot of heavy lifting. Come with a full battery and storage space to spare.
You’re Going to Make Friends
This is the part nobody tells you about circuit parties: the people are incredibly warm. The crowd at a BOS Philly event isn’t cliquey. People are there to celebrate, connect, and have a great time — and that energy is contagious. Say hi to the person next to you at the bar. Compliment someone’s outfit. Dance with strangers. By 2 AM, those strangers are your new group chat.
Whether you’re rolling in with a crew of ten or walking in solo, you will not feel alone on that dance floor.
Every Dollar Goes to Charity
BOS Philly is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Every event they produce is volunteer-run, and all net proceeds go directly to local LGBTQ+ charities in Philadelphia. So while you’re dancing under the lights at The Fillmore on Pride Saturday, know this: your ticket isn’t just buying you a party. It’s funding the community.
That’s a pretty good reason to dance harder.
