Beyond the Bell Tours is a queer-owned walking tour company that tells the stories mainstream tourism leaves out. Founded by Joey Leroux and Rebecca Fisher after graduating from Haverford College in 2018, the company offers inclusive historical tours of Philadelphia highlighting marginalized communities — people of color, queer folks, Indigenous peoples, and women. Their signature Gayborhood & LGBTQ History Tour takes visitors through the only formalized Gayborhood in the country, covering the institutions, historical markers, murals, and streets that honor Philly’s LGBTQ+ ancestors.
