Best Blog of 2022

Executive Director of PhillyGayCalendar

Honey, it’s been quite the year for PhillyGayCalendar! We’ve been serving up all the tea on everything from pride parades to Gunnar’s sizzling performances. And let’s not forget all the major events happening in BOS Philly – we’ve got the inside scoop on the hottest concerts and fundraisers. But the theater, darling. The theater. We’ve seen some truly incredible productions and had the pleasure of sharing our reviews with all of you.

But enough about us, let’s get to the good stuff – the most popular blog posts of the year! These are the ones that had our followers gagging and begging for more. So sit back, relax, and let’s take a trip down memory lane as we countdown the top posts of 2022

The team at BOS Philly threw another incredible party – ICE QUEEN. With Ice sculptures, snow machines, ice shots and much more, it was a night to remember. Can’t wait until their next party!

Girl, get ready for a night at the theater you’ll never forget, because this Cinderella had all the classic tunes we know and love from musical theater history. From “In My Own Little Corner” to “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful?”, this show had  it all.

“Honey, you know what they say: we’re all a little nasty underneath it all. And Philly favorite Gunnar Montana proved it in his latest photoshoot with Photographer Joe McFetridge. This time, he brought a little water and some seriously sexy Nasty Pig underwear into the mix. And if you want to see how it all went down, there’s even a behind-the-scenes video to enjoy. Trust us, you don’t want to miss Gunnar Montana looking fine as hell in Nasty Pig underwear. Get ready to drool, darlings!”

Check out the photos of Level Up’s Caribe party.

Pierce Wheeler took time out to talk to us about his role in the Dear Evan Hansen tour, to talk to our blogger Ralph and talk about his favorite things.

Honey, if you weren’t already aware, the BOS Philly team had been busy creating yet another fabulous party: ICE QUEEN. And let me tell you, it’s going to be a doozy. It took place February 26 at The Foundry. But the real question is, what are you going to wear? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with some suggestions. And make sure to check out our sponsor, Andrew Christian, for some seriously fierce looks. Trust us, you don’t want to miss ICE QUEEN. See you there, darlings!”

Philly’s favorite queer Imagineer had a new creation – Super Gay Barbie: Leather Daddy Edition!

Based on his amazing Super Gay Barbie, Gunnar Montana and photographer Joe McFetridge created a gay action figure everyone will want for their birthday. Plus, this leather daddy comes with accessories!

Honey, it’s a sad day when someone as vile as Patrick Gremling is arrested for sexually assaulting a child. According to the police, this monster reportedly assaulted a middle schooler at the Woods Campground resort he owns in the Pocono Mountains back in 2011. And if that wasn’t sickening enough, the victim (now an adult) also reported that Gremling had touched them inappropriately before at a home in New Jersey in 2009. Gremling was arrested after a wiretapped phone call with the victim, during which he made several admissions.

It was time to get our pride on, because PHL Pride Collective announced the unforgettable “PHL Pride 50: Our Community, Our Joy” happening the weekend of June 3-5. And honey, it was a celebration to remember because this year marked the 50th anniversary of Philadelphia’s first Gay Pride Day in 1972! PHL Pride Collective’s first Pride was all about honoring Philly’s activist past and present, celebrating what we’ve built together, and most importantly, uplifting community joy. The festivities may have looked a little different from previous years, but that didn’t stop us from having a ball. PHL Pride Collective even partnered with other organizations to promote community events all weekend long, culminating in the Pride March and Festival on Sunday, June 5th. It was a pride celebration for the ages
